About the Role
We’re looking for an early-career finance professional with strong foundations in Kenyan financial practices and a hunger to learn and grow. As a Finance Officer, you will support financial operations across our Kenyan, Ugandan, and Tanzanian entities — with primary focus on Kenya. This role blends hands-on financial operations, compliance, reporting, and learning opportunities in a high-growth, cross-border environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Operations & Bookkeeping
● Record day-to-day financial transactions and maintain accurate ledgers.
● Process payments and collections, ensuring timely disbursement and follow-ups.
● Support bank reconciliations and flag inconsistencies for resolution.
2. Tax & Regulatory Compliance (Kenya)
● Prepare and file VAT, PAYE, corporate tax, and other statutory obligations in Kenya.
● Stay updated on Kenyan tax regulations and support internal compliance processes.
● Provide support for tax filings in Uganda and Tanzania under guidance — no prior expertise required.
3. Payroll & Disbursements
● Assist in payroll preparation and statutory deductions for Zeraki Kenya and provide inputs for Uganda and Tanzania.
● Ensure accuracy and completeness of payroll support documentation.
4. Reporting & Support
● Prepare monthly financial reports for Kenya and assist in reporting for Uganda and Tanzania.
● Support cash flow tracking and receivables monitoring.
● Assist in preparing documentation for audits and investor reports.
5. Learning & Collaboration
● Work closely with the Finance Manager and other departments to align financial practices with operational needs.
● Participate in structured learning sessions to build proficiency in international finance and SaaS financial operations.
Key Performance Indicators
● Compliance: 100% of Kenyan tax and regulatory filings submitted 3+ days before deadlines; zero penalties.
● Timely Reporting: Kenya financial reports submitted by the 5th of each month.
● Payment Efficiency: 95% of disbursements and collections processed within agreed terms.
● Receivables Management: Maintain an average collection period below 30 days.
● Proactive Risk Support: Identify and report at least 3 emerging financial risks per quarter.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

1–2 years of professional experience in finance or accounting roles (internship or entry-level).

Proficient in QuickBooks or similar accounting software.

Strong understanding of Kenyan tax laws and statutory compliance requirements.

Solid Excel and data handling skills.

CPA (K), ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification is preferred but not required.
