Your Impact
• Provides courteous, quick, and professional service with a smile at all times suggesting and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages at various beverage outlets throughout the cruise ship.
• Takes the orders from the guests, relays them to the Bartender and then makes sure that the beverages are served in a proper glassware with a proper garnish.
• Suggests drinks to guests applying up selling and suggestive selling techniques thus increasing beverage products revenue for the company.
• Complies with Explora Journeys standard procedures relating to cleanliness, set-ups and service standards.
• Ensures all bar tables and chairs are clean before and after Guests arrive and leave.
• Knows all beverages, mixed drinks and other bar items specified in the bar list including good understanding of wines.
• Correctly apply the food safety procedures and food quality requirements related to all processes.
• Report any issue that needs attention to the Bartender.
• Ensure compliance with the company alcohol policy.
Your Journey So Far
• Previous experience in a similar position in an International Cruise Company, or in a busy 5-star hotel/resort with an international bar list.
• Basic knowledge on food safety.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and keep a harmonious and productive team environment.
• Demonstrated understanding and practical knowledge of Food Safety as defined in Company sanitation standards.
• Demonstrated skills in one-on-one communications with Guests.
• Adhere to specific scheduled work hours yet be flexible if circumstances require it.
• Tactful and diplomatic in crisis and problem handling.
• Proficiency in Computers. Microsoft programs including but not limited to, Outlook, Word, Excel. Sound knowledge of accounting and computerized dining systems/software.
• Fluent in written and spoken English. Any additional European language is considered an advantage.
Your Essentials
• Passport, visas, certificates as specified by the company and as required for exit from the port of origin and entry into the destination cruising area.
• Food Safety/HACCP certificate.
