Job Title: Junior QA Engineer

Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Reports to: CTO/PM

Terra is a fast-growing Fintech company based in Nairobi. Our mission is to empower businesses in emerging markets to grow, with seamless payments and data driven technology.

We’re looking for a highly driven candidate who will help ensure the reliability and usability of our Wallet as a Service platform. You’ll work closely with product managers, engineers, growth and commercial teams

Key Responsibilities

Write and execute test cases, both manual and automated, for mobile, web, and hardware-integrated features.

Perform functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing across software and hardware integrations.

Identify, log, and track bugs using tools like Jira or similar

Collaborate with developers and product teams to reproduce and resolve issues.

Support UAT processes with business users and gather feedback.
Validate deployments and hotfixes during release cycles.
Assist in building test automation scripts under guidance from the CTO.

Ensure quality across devices used in the field — especially NFC cards, POS terminals, and WaaS platform.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in a QA or testing role (internships count).
• Basic knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Exposure to testing APIs, mobile apps, or embedded systems is a plus.
• Comfortable writing test cases and documenting defects clearly.
• Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
• Bonus: Experience with automation frameworks
