MSME RELATIONSHIP OFFICER – MULTIPLE (NAIROBI AREA
Reporting to the Relationship Manager, the holder of this position will plan and carry out specific credit assignments on the MFI’s operations in an efficient, economical, and effective manner. These includes;
Sales & Marketing Outreach
- Identify and recruit new individual MSME clients.
- Promote and match products to client needs.
- Conduct community outreach and awareness campaigns.
- Provide the best financial products aligned to client needs through proper credit assessment using the 5C’s of credit (Capacity, Capital, Character, Collateral, Conditions).
- Meet targets for Outstanding Loan Balance (OLB), new and repeat clients.
- Ensure monthly growth in client numbers.
- Maintain a quality loan portfolio and foster high customer retention.
Disbursement and Collections
- Ensure disbursement of quality and high-ticket loans.
- Monitor loan repayment and ensure timely collections.
- Use T24 system reports to track and manage portfolio performance.
- Align disbursement dates with value dates in the loan schedule.
- Meet Portfolio at Risk (PAR) performance expectations.
Client Training and Advisory
- Conduct weekly pre-loan training for clients in accordance with policy.
- Conduct monthly post-loan training sessions.
- Educate clients on new product features and suitability.
- Provide personalized business advisory services and monitor client growth and development.
- Be a Safeguarding Champion to clients
Loan Appraisal and Administration
- Conduct in-depth business assessments using the 5C’s of credit.
- Appraise loan applications and prepare quality credit proposals.
- Ensure all loan documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with policy.
- Monitor loan utilization and follow up on client business performance.
Interpretation and Usage of Reports
- Utilize T24 and DFA reports for daily loan tracking and portfolio management.
- Reconcile client loan records regularly.
- Help clients understand and interpret their financial records and loan performance.
Income and Expenditure Targets
- Meet monthly and quarterly income generation targets.
- Operate within assigned cost limits and demonstrate prudent expense management.
The ideal Candidate should possess a determined personality with initiative and perseverance, be Ready to comply and live up to and in accordance with the organization’s vision and Core Values, demonstrate high regard for accuracy and reliability; Willingness and ability to work in a team environment. The Candidate should have a Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Microfinance, Accounting, or related field. Additionally, be enthusiastic with good communication and sales skills. The candidate should also have at least 2 years experience in microfinance, SME lending, or credit operations.
The candidate must be a professing and practicing Christian, whose conduct and depth of character are governed by personal Christian convictions.
