team, we are seeking to fill the following position:
PAEDIATRICS SURGEON
Reporting to the DIRECTOR CLINICAL SERVICES.
Purpose: To glorify God through the provision of excellent surgical care to all pediatric patients of AIC
Kijabe Hospital and its satellite clinics.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
• To perform diagnostic & therapeutic procedures pertinent to the care of patients
• To ensure thorough assessment & documentation of history & physical findings for all patients, and
referral for investigations and/or specialist opinion where necessary
• Responsible for the preoperative diagnosis, the operation, the postoperative care, and the treatment of surgical patients, including management of complications
• Lead the surgical team in preparation for, and performance of the operation as well as in caring for
the patient in the immediate postoperative period
• Responsible for obtaining informed consent for every surgical procedure, from the patient or the patient’s legal designate as appropriate
• Supervise and mentor junior staff and advise on preoperative, surgical, and postoperative management
• Participate in quality improvement measures on assigned clinical areas, including audit & research as appropriate
Applicants Qualifications, Experience, Competencies and Attributes
• Bachelors degree in Medicine or any other related field
• Registered with the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board
• Masters Degree in Paediatric Surgery or Fellowship
